Purpose
The MM6 device is an ideal solution for high-touch, high-traffic locations. This article acts as an on-site installation guide for the MM6 and MM6+ device.
Expansion Unit (XP Unit)
The MM6 kiosk supports an Expansion Unit (XP6). The Expansion Unit (also know as an XP unit) is an optional component that connects to the left side of the countertop kiosk. It is bolted to the countertop and contains peripherals such as a Vertical Up-Stacker and a Receipt Printer.
XP units are compatible with the MM6 / MM6 Mini, and starting on 10/02/25, they are compatible with the MM6 / MM6 Mini Dining kiosks as well.
When the Expansion Unit is combined with the MM6, these devices are called the MM6+.
Additional peripherals are also available for the MM6. Please see the article MM6 - Spec Sheets and Hardware Information for more information.

Process
Physical Installation
- Carefully unpack the MM6 kiosk (and XP Unit, if applicable). Be sure not to lose any mounting hardware or accessories which are included in the packaging box. Please contact 365 immediately if there is any damage caused by shipping.
- Find the desired countertop location for the MM6 unit. Tape the MM6 Drill Template Guide in place on the countertop's surface, then drill 3/8" holes in the locations marked on the guide. This guide is included in the packaging of the units and is also available in the attachments of this article.
- Place the MM6 on the counter, lining up the drill holes with the holes in the device. Insert the supplied carriage bolts through the square holes and secure them from the underside of the countertop with the washers and nuts.
XP Installation Process
If not installing the XP Unit, please proceed to Powering on the Device and Final Installation Steps.
- Unlock and open the MM6 kiosk and the XP unit.
- On the MM6 kiosk, use the 1/8" hex wrench to remove the two screws from the cover trim piece on the lefthand side of the device. This trim piece and hardware can then be discarded, as it will no longer be needed once the XP Unit is installed.
-
On the left-hand side of the base of the kiosk, remove the screw above the lower cable port by using the 5/32" hex wrench. Replace it with the 1" long 1/4-20 male threaded standoff, tightening it fully with the hex wrench.
- Place the MM6 XP Unit Drill Guide onto the countertop's surface, locating it to the left-hand side of the MM6. This guide is included in the packaging of the units and is also available in the attachments of this article.
-
Tape the drill guide in place, then drill the required holes in the locations marked on the guide. Do not bolt the device to the countertop yet, as doing so would make it more difficult to run the cables between the XP unit and the MM6. We will bolt the unit to the tabletop in Step 11.
-
Inside the XP unit, run the USB cable through the top cable port and into the top cable port on the MM6. Then, plug it into the PC.
-
Inside the MM6 device, remove the yellow protective cap from the DC power barrel jack. Then, run it through the lower cable port of the kiosk and into the lower cable port of the XP unit. Connect the end of the cable to its corresponding cable in the XP unit. This connection provides power to the XP unit.
-
Inside the kiosk, feed the printer power cable through the lower cable port of the kiosk. Run this cable through the lower cable port of the XP unit, but instead of running it into the main body of the unit as before, direct the end through the back panel opening of the unit, as shown in the images below.
- Plug the printer power cable into the back of the unit.
-
Remove the locknuts from the studs on the XP unit 7/16" wrench. Slide the XP unit into place on the side of the kiosk, then re-attach the locknuts, locking the two devices together. Adjust the cord lengths between the devices as needed to achieve this.
-
Inside the XP unit, attach the wingnut to the threaded standoff. Bolt the XP unit to the countertop via the holes drilled in Step 5.
- Plug the XP power cable into the cyber power that is inside the kiosk.
- Close and lock the XP Unit and Kiosk. Continue on to Powering on the Device and Final Installation Steps.

365RM Connect Installation Process
Installing the Cellular Connectivity Antennas
If taking advantage of the 365RM Connector integrated cellular connectivity, the external 4G/5G SMA antenna must be connected to ensure a good signal.
Disregard this section if using the local network, or an external cellular modem for connectivity.
- Locate the cellular antenna included with the kiosk.
- Locate the cable chase hole on the back on the kiosk, and insert the SMA cables.
- From the inside of the kiosk, find the SMA cables and route them up the left side of the enclosure.
Give enough slack to connect them to the router, but don’t connect them yet.
- Gently lift the router straight up to remove it from its mount.
No need to disconnect the power or ethernet cables. - Connect the female SMA connector to the male SMA connectors on the sides of the router.
Remount the router and close the kiosk door. - Affix the antenna block to the back of the kiosk, or another available high point to ensure a good signal.
Installing the External Wi-Fi Antennas
The 365 RM Connect router can be optionally configured to broadcast a Wi-Fi signal for
approved devices like an inventory handheld.
If the router is not configured for Wi-Fi, disregard this section and dispose of the Wi-Fi antennas.
- Locate the cellular antenna included with the kiosk.
- Locate the cable chase hole on the back of the kiosk, and insert the 4 SMA cables.
- From the inside of the kiosk, find the SMA cables and route them up from the left side of the enclosure.
Give enough slack to connect them to the router, but don't connect yet. - Gently lift the router straight up to remove it from its mount.
No need to disconnect the power or ethernet cables. - Connect the female SMA connected to the male SMA connectors on the top of the router.
Be sure to match up the 2.4G and 5.8G antennas to the correct connector. - Remove the router and close the kiosk door.
- Affix the antennas to the back of the kiosk, or another available high point to ensure a good Wi-Fi signal is broadcast.
Powering on the Device
To power on the device, connect the MM6 to the 120VAC 3-prong grounded outlet. Press and hold the Power button located at the back of the kiosk, holding until it beeps. The MM6 will then boot up and automatically start the POS (Point of Sale) software.
To properly shut down the kiosk when needed:
- Open the kiosk and power down the PC by pressing its power button.
- Once the PC is off, turn off the kiosk by holding the Power button located in the back of the kiosk (the UPS) until a long beep is heard, followed by two short beeps.
Final Installation Steps
- Once the unit is powered up, the Operator should verify network connectivity and set up the router by connecting an Operator-provided network cable from the MM6's LAN port to the local connection jack. Power for the router is supplied separately from the rest of the device.
For more information on this process, see the Validating Network Status on ADM section of our Network Connectivity Verification article.
- Locate and write down the serial number of the MM6, located on the side of the kiosk.
Use this number when contacting 365Support at (888) 365-6282 to complete remote configuration.
