Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide instructions for the setup and configuration of an Ariva-S Mini Scale. Although the food scale is a common item, it is not a part of every installation. It can be added to a setup after it has gone live. If the consumers are using a food scale, any food item that needs to be weighed needs to be marked as such in the product catalog.
See ADM How to Add a Scale Item for more information.
Setup
- Remove the scale from the box.
- Connect the yellow Ethernet cable to the “COM” port on the scale.
- Connect the Power adapter.
- The display is already connected – leave the back Disp port empty.
- Place the scale on a flat surface near the cash drawers.
ADM Settings
Products must have the Unit Of Measure, Weigh and Tare Weight values set. The Tare Weight will vary depending on the size of the container.
See ADM - How to Add a Scale Item for more information.
Configuration
Mini scales can be configured with either a COM to Serial or COM to USB connection. Whether the customer receives a COM to Serial or COM to USB depends on their preference (if any) when ordering.
