Coke Swipe - Operator Getting Started

Purpose

This guide describes how to order and configure the set up for a PicoCooler Vision device with Coke Swipe, including product management and transaction reporting.

Process

PicoCooler Vision with Coke Swipe is a self-service retail solution that combines an intelligent cooler with a tap, swipe, grab, and go purchasing experience.

Customers unlock the cooler using an accepted payment method, select products, and close the door. PicoCooler Vision uses computer vision technology to determine which products were removed, while Coke Swipe supports the payment experience. The transaction is completed automatically without a traditional checkout process.

Customer Experience

  • Tap or Swipe: The customer presents an accepted payment method at the cooler.
  • Open: After payment authorization, the cooler unlocks.
  • Grab: The customer opens the door and selects products.
  • Close and Go: The customer closes the door. The system identifies the products taken and completes the transaction.

Operator Requirements

  • Products offered in the cooler must be properly configured so the system can recognize items and charge customers correctly.
  • The cooler must remain properly stocked and follow approved merchandising practices.
  • Customers do not scan individual products or complete a traditional checkout.
  • The cooler technology and payment components must remain connected and operational.

Getting Started

  1. Contact a 365 sales representative to place an order.

  2. Specify that the order requires a PicoCooler Vision with Coke Swipe.

New 365 Customer or First Smart Cooler Order

Customers who are new to 365 or ordering a PicoCooler Vision for the first time should be contacted by the training team to enroll in the 365 Academy.

Completion of the 365 Academy is required to qualify for one-to-one training. One-to-one training is optional.

After completing the 365 Academy and optional one-to-one training, continue to the next step.

Product Management and Integration Options

Coke Swipe locations can support different product management and reporting workflows. The available setup depends on the systems used by the organization.

Two areas must be considered:

  • Product and Planogram Management: How products are maintained and cooler planograms are created.
  • Coke Transaction Reporting: Whether Suelware is used to send transaction information to Coke's Kona system.

These options are independent. One system may be used for product management while another system is used for Coke transaction reporting.

Product Management and Reporting Setup

Organization Setup Product Management Planogram Management Transaction Reporting
Uses Parlevel Parlevel Parlevel ADM or Suelware
Uses another VMS Existing VMS to ADM Stockwell ADM or Suelware
Does not use a VMS ADM Stockwell ADM or Suelware
Uses Parlevel and Suelware Parlevel Parlevel Suelware to Coke/Kona

Step 1: Determine Product Management

Option 1: Parlevel

When Parlevel is used for product management, Coke Swipe can integrate with Parlevel to support the product catalog and planograms.

  • Products are managed through Parlevel.
  • Parlevel integrates with ADM and Stockwell.
  • Planograms are created and maintained using Parlevel planogram functionality.
  • Product and planogram information is communicated to the Coke Swipe solution through the integration.

This option applies when Parlevel is already in use and product and planogram management will continue through Parlevel.

Important: Coke Swipe requires the Parlevel VDI 2.0 integration. If an ADM organization already uses Parlevel VDI 1.0, an additional ADM organization may be required for Coke Swipe locations. The 365 Implementation representative will help determine the appropriate setup.

Option 2: Another VMS

When a Vending Management System other than Parlevel is used, the existing VMS may send the product catalog to ADM through the VDI 1.0 integration.

  • The product catalog is sent from the VMS to ADM.
  • Products become available for Coke Swipe locations.
  • Planograms are created and maintained through Stockwell.

This option applies when the product catalog will continue to be maintained in an existing VMS that is not Parlevel.

Option 3: No VMS

A VMS is not required to operate Coke Swipe locations.

  • The product catalog is managed through ADM.
  • The 365 Implementation team works with the organization to establish the initial product catalog.
  • Planograms are created and maintained through Stockwell.

This option applies when no VMS is currently used or when the Coke Swipe product catalog will be managed directly through ADM.

Step 2: Determine Whether Suelware Is Used

The Coke bottler may use Suelware for Coke transaction reporting.

Suelware is separate from the product and planogram management system. When used, Suelware transmits sales and transaction information from Coke Swipe locations to the Coke Kona backend.

Suelware and another VMS may be used at the same location.

Example:

  • Parlevel: Product and planogram management
  • Suelware: Transaction information sent to Coke/Kona

When Suelware is not used, Coke Swipe sales and transaction information can be managed and reported through ADM.

Information Required For Implementation

Before Coke Swipe locations are configured, provide the following information to the 365 Implementation representative:

  • Whether a VMS is currently used.
  • The name of the VMS used for product management.
  • Whether Parlevel is used.
  • Whether an ADM organization is currently integrated with Parlevel.
  • Whether the Coke bottler uses Suelware for Coke transaction reporting.

An Implementation representative will use this information to determine the appropriate integrations and configuration for the Coke Swipe locations.

Not sure which option applies? A 365 Implementation representative can review the Organization's current product management and reporting processes and help determine the appropriate configuration.

Location Deployment Request

Once the information above is gathered, a Location Deployment Request will need to be submitted. The 365 team will use this information to set everything up internally in ADM.

  1. Identify the location for the new smart cooler.

  2. Open the Location Deployment Request form.

  3. Click Location Deployment Request.

  4. Select Imbera for the cabinet model.

  5. Fill out the rest of the form with the necessary information.

After the 365 Implementation team completes the deployment request, an email will be sent.
