Purpose

This article provides an overview of 365 Kitchen Management's Electronic Patient Meal Ordering (ePMO) web based module.

Process

The web based application for 365 Kitchen Management's ePMO system allows for patient ordering and management all in the same place. It also includes ward layout, bed statuses, and visual indicators used to manage patient meal ordering.

Permissions

Available actions, including switching between sites or wards, are dependent on account setup and assigned user permissions that are set in the administration module.

Ward Screen

The ward screen displays all beds within a selected ward for the available permissions.

Kafoodle - ePMO Ward Example

To switch wards, simply tap the ward name in the bottom left corner and select the new ward to navigate to from the dropdown of available wards.

To change sites, tap the site name in the top left corner and select the new site from the dropdown of available sites.

Bed Status Indicators

Each bed is color-coded to indicate patient and order status. A legend is displayed on the screen to identify and explain each bed status color.

  • Grey – Bed is unoccupied. Click bed to set up new patient profile.
  • Pink – Bed is occupied and order has not been taken
  • Blue – Order has been placed and includes a scheduled service time
  • Green – Order is ready for collection from kitchen
  • Orange – Patient is nil by mouth (NBM) and ordering is not permitted
  • Blue exclamation icon – An order exists and is past the delivery time

Bed status updates automatically based on order activity. Open orders that are not completed after the scheduled service time display an alert indicator.

As a best practice, orders should be marked as completed after food has been served to remove open order indicators.
