Purpose
This article outlines the process for connecting the 365 Dining Handheld tablet to the internet utilizing a wireless connection.

Connectivity Options

Wi-Fi Broadcast from the Meraki router that came with the dining deployment.

Wi-Fi Broadcast from existing or self-managed wireless network.
- If creating your own wireless network or connecting to a client’s network, you must follow the latest PCI DSS guidelines for wireless network security. Consult your QSA or the PCI Security Standards for more information.
NOTE: If you are not comfortable creating a Wi-Fi network with PCI DSS or cannot validate that the client’s Wi-Fi network follows PCI DSS, 365 Retail Markets offers several solutions to assist with network connectivity. Contact your account manager for more information.
- The 365 Dining Handheld requires a passphrase-secured, non-Guest Wi-Fi SSID. In addition to this, the tablet cannot operate on a Wi-Fi network with a captive portal or login page.
- If using a self managed wireless network please ensure that all required addresses are whitelisted for optimal connectivity. Please refer to the article, Network Requirements - 365Dining, ReadyTouch, and MM6 Mini Dining.

Connecting to Wireless
Prerequisite
Locating the USB on the tablet is imperative before continuing. When holding the tablet with the screen facing up there should be a flap on the case on the left side. The USB port is under the flap.
Instructions
- Connect a USB keyboard to the tablet.
- Press Alt+F4 to close the Point of Sale (POS) app.
- Click the Speaker and Battery icons in the top-right corner of the screen.
- In the dropdown, Click the Wi-Fi button. On first use, it will show “Not Connected”.
- Click Select Network.
- Select the desired Wi-Fi network (SSID) and click Connect.
- Enter the password, and click Connect again.
- Test connection. The POS app may re-launch automatically. If it does, press Alt + F4 again and click the Speaker and Battery icons in the top right. The Wi-Fi access point name should now show next to the Wi-Fi icon indicating connection.
Alternative Instructions
- Connect a USB keyboard to the tablet.
- Press the left Windows key (also known as the Super key).
- Type Settings, then click the gear icon that appears.
- Under Settings, click Wi-Fi.
- Select the desired network under Visible Networks.
- Enter the password, and click Connect.
- Test connection. The POS app may re-launch automatically. If it does, press Alt + F4 again and click the Speaker and Battery icons in the top right. The Wi-Fi access point name should now show next to the Wi-Fi icon indicating connection.
