Purpose

The purpose of this article is to explain how to use the Messages tab within the Order Module to view, track, and verify all email communications sent to a customer.
 

Process

The Messages tab allows Users to view any automated emails and email-related data that were sent to a customer. 

If a confirmation email, or payment request was sent to the customer, their record of those contacts is located in the Messages tab. The tab is useful to track order confirmations, cancellations, order updates, and payments receipts. It is also used to track whether or not a customer or user received an email related to an Order.

The email confirmation acts as a receipt for the customer, where they can see the most up to date breakdown of costs and menu items for their order.
 

Viewing the Messages Tab

  1. Go to the Order Module.
     
  2. Click on the order number to view. This will open the Order Details page.
     
  3. Go to the Messages Tab.
     
  4. All the email messages sent to the customer's email address on file display in chronological order.

  5. Click View Content to see the email.
     

Email Details

At the top of the pop up the email details will be listed.

  • Email Address shows the email address that the message was sent from.
     
  • Status shows whether the email was Delivered, Undelivered, Opened, etc.
    If a customer claims to not receive an email, this data is useful to track where the messages are sent and if the messages were received.
     
  • Open Date shows when the email was opened if it was delivered.
     
  • Clicking Details will show further details regarding the delivery of the email.

The body of the pop up also shows the content of the email that was sent and how it should look to the customer.
