LightSpeed - Adding Lights to the FastTrack System
Updated

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to assist operators in adding lights to their FastTrack zone in LightSpeed Administrator, and to clarify all steps of the process.

Process

Open the Add Lights Window

  1. In LightSpeed Administrator, go to LightSpeed Settings Map Products to Lights.

  2. Select the desired zone to add lights to.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page, then select the Add Lights button.

  4. The Add Lights window will appear with 4 fields to make selections for, as described below. (The number shown in blue indicates how many additional lights can still be added to the gateway that was entered.)

    1. Gateway ID: This field identifies the gateway where the light is or will be added. If unsure which gateway to use, open FastTrack and select the Show Gateway Address button:
LightSpeed Administrator - Show Gateway Address.png This will display the gateway number and the tag number of the lights (I.E., 2-008).

    2. Section: Specify the light section where this product should appear during picking. The section, also called the Rack Section, determines the order in which lights activate when picking. After the rack section is set, the activation order follows the gateway number and then the tag number.

    3. Number of Tags: This is the number of additional lights to be added. For example, if 3 is entered, three lights will be added. Their tag numbers will be assigned in sequence after the last available tag number on the gateway that was entered. If gateway 1 currently ends at tag number 58, the new lights will be assigned tag numbers 59, 60, and 61.

    4. Max Tags: This is the maximum number of tags that can be assigned to this gateway. This dropdown typically only need to be changed if the number of lights on the line exceeds 100. Although options above 120 may appear, the maximum supported value is 120 due to electrical constraints. A soft limit of 100 is normally recommended to avoid overloading the gateway, while 120 should be treated as the hard limit.

Save and Verify the Lights

When finished, select Save. The system does not display a confirmation message or success indicator after saving.

To confirm the lights were added successfully, return to LightSpeed AdministratorLightSpeed Settings Map Products to Lights, and verify that the new lights appear in the list. By default, lights are organized by Rack Section.

Important: Do not refresh the page after saving, as this may duplicate the number of lights that were added.

Restart FastTrack LightSpeed

Restart the FastTrack LightSpeed program so the newly added lights appear on the line.

Program the Physical Lights

After the lights are added, physically program each light to the tag number mapped to its associated product. For light programming instructions, see the following guide: Lightspeed - Pick Line Layout & Programming Lights.
