Purpose

The purpose of this article is to outline Error Codes and resolution steps for the Remote Price Change (RPC) tool.

Error Message Description Resolution Steps Notes
Change overwritten by newer update A newer remote price change request was submitted for the same slot while a previous request was still pending. The previous request is marked as error, and replaced by the new request.   A newer price change request was sent. Informational only.
Change id not found on the server (lost or was never sent) Server send issue - The Request ID was not found when the server requested a status update. Investigation is required to determine the root cause; this may be resolved server-side. 1. Export report from Selection Tracker
2. Filter for Status = Errors
3. Filter for Message = Change ID not found on the server

5. Share the list of machines with this specific error with 365
 
error: Price Mismatch DEX Write succeeded and validation DEX Read succeeded, but the price did not update on the machine. DEX write and read succeeded but price did not change. Contact 365 Support for investigation.  
Missing in Dex Cannot change price, because the selection does not exist in the DEX file.
The machine’s planogram is likely incorrect. Originates from the Stock app.
Selection not in DEX file, likely planogram mismatch. Compare DEX vs planogram and correct.  
noConnectionDeviceToMachine No response from the device. The system attempted to write DEX but failed.
A vend may have been in progress at the time of the request.
Attempt to write DEX but machine did not respond. Check connectivity or retry.  
Read Error DEX Write succeeded, but the validation DEX Read failed. Write DEX succeeded but validation read failed. Verify connectivity or resend DEX.  
Remote device provider system is not able to find device The provided DeviceID was not found by the remote device provider system.
The device was likely offline for an extended period prior to the request.
DeviceID not found. Verify connectivity in VMS or escalate to support.  
Server not able to connect with device The server was unable to establish communication with the device within the allotted retry window. The vendor server will not attempt additional retries. No DEX response was received. No DEX response within allotted time. Verify DEX history and connectivity.  
Selection does not exist in machine or invalid Cannot change price, because the selection does not exist in the DEX file.
The machine’s planogram is likely incorrect. Originates from PayPlus.
Selection missing from DEX or incorrect planogram. Review and correct mapping.  
Unknown error occurred A remote price change was submitted for a slot with an existing pending price change.
The existing request is marked as error and a new request is created.
Pending price change exists. Informational; investigate with support if persistent.
