2. Discount Decision

Decision point

If the campaign does not need a discount, select No discount/other and continue to Select Locations. If the campaign uses a Mobile discount, complete Goal Settings and Redemption Settings before continuing.

SelectionRequired setupNext step
No discount/otherNo discount setup is required.Go directly to Select Locations.
Mobile discountComplete the necessary Goal Settings, Redemption Settings, discounted products, and discount type.Continue to Select Locations only after the discount setup is complete.

3. Goal Settings

Purpose: Goal Settings define what the user must purchase to qualify for the discount. No discount is applied to goal purchases.

Goal settingHow to use it
Prerequisite ProductsDefines the product(s) the user must purchase to unlock the deal. Products are selected from the uploaded product list.
Remove this stepUse this option to skip prerequisite products when a qualifying purchase goal is not needed.
Goal Type: QuantityRequires the user to purchase a specified number of prerequisite products.
Goal Type: Amount SpentRequires the user to spend a specified dollar amount on prerequisite products.

The screenshot below shows the Format Discount configuration area, including Prerequisite Products, Goal Type, Discounted Products, Auto Claim, and Discount Offered options.

Client note

The prerequisite products goal is optional. If the campaign does not need a qualifying purchase requirement, select Remove this step. This removes the goal requirement, so the user does not need to define prerequisite products, quantity, or amount spent. The campaign setup will continue with Discounted Products, Auto Claim, and Discount Offered.

4. Redemption Settings

Purpose: Redemption Settings define the discount the user receives on their next qualifying purchase after meeting the goal.

Redemption settingHow it works
Discounted ProductsSelect the product(s) that are eligible to receive the discount. The discount applies to these redemption products, not to the goal purchases.
Auto ClaimWhen enabled, the deal does not need to be manually claimed by the user in order to be redeemed.
Purchase price capThe discount is capped at the redeeming product’s purchase price.

Example

If Amount Off is $2.00 but the redeeming product costs $1.00, the user receives $1.00 back. The discount does not exceed the purchase price of the redeeming product.

5. Available Mobile Discount Options

Discount optionDescription
Percentage DiscountedApplies a percentage discount to the redeeming product, such as 10% off.
Dollar Amount DiscountedApplies a fixed dollar amount off the redeeming product, such as $2.00 off.
Fixed Dollar AmountSets the redeeming product to a specific final price.
FreeMakes the redeeming product free.

6. Important Same-Transaction Limitation

Important limitation

Mobile discounts cannot currently be restricted strictly to the same transaction through the client-facing configuration screen.

ItemDetail
Example scenarioA campaign is configured as: buy 1 product from this UPC list and get $2.00 off.
LimitationThe client cannot configure the discount so that redemption must occur only within that same transaction.
Support-assisted workaroundA very short deal duration, such as 1 minute, can be used to mimic a same-transaction experience.
Client accessThe X-minute duration restriction is not available for clients to configure directly.
Required actionThe client should contact Support if they need this short-duration setup.
