PicoPlatform/Vision Smart Stores - Remote Reset HSA Lockouts
Updated

Purpose

This article goes over HSA Lockouts for PicoPlatform/Vision Smart Stores - what an HSA lockout is, which devices are supported, how to reset HSA onsite, and how to enable/perform HSA resets remotely.

What is a "HSA Lockout"?

The HSA (Health Safety Alerts) is a regulatory standard from NAMA and NSF to ensure operators and manufacturers a protected against health safety issues that may arise from stocking and vending perishable foods in a smart cooler.

At this time, and depending on the primary operation of the cooler, HSA alerts may be enabled and lock the smart cooler. When enabled, If the temperature of the cooler exceeds 41°F for 30 minutes, the cooler locks to prevent your customers from purchasing and consuming any perishable foods. The best way to reset the alerts is to perform a site visit to ensure the items in the cooler are safe to consume and then disable the alerts.

Important: Operators are responsible for the contents of their coolers and to discard spoiled products. We strongly recommend that you do not remotely reset an HSA lockout if the cooler contains perishable products.

To reset the lockout on the Pico:

  1. Tap the top-left corner of the Pico screen five times.

  2. Enter your driver PIN to open the Driver Menu.

  3. Select Reset HSA lockout.

Offsite: Reset through ADM

Operators who do not stock perishable products can opt in to remote HSA resets on supported devices. Once this feature is enabled, an active HSA lockout can be reset through ADM without sending a driver to the location.

Remote reset is only available when:

  • Your organization has opted in to the remote HSA reset feature.

  • The affected device is supported. (See Supported Devices section above.)

  • The cooler is actively in an HSA lockout.

The Reset HSA lockout button in ADM is active only when all these conditions are met.
