Vision Smart Stores - VisionLink Operator Guide
Updated

Purpose

This article serves as an Operator guide for the VisionLink.

This guide explains the features and limitations of VisionLink as well as how to request it, and what changes when VisionLink is enabled.

What is VisionLink?

365’s VisionLink technology eliminates purchase friction by consolidating multi-door transactions into a single pre-authorization and receipt.

VisionLink also enables a multi-user environment where patrons can shop different doors simultaneously.

Supported Devices & Compatibility

  • VisionLink requires the S1U365 Pico model only, and is supported on the following Vision Smart Store kiosks:
    • PicoCabinet Vision CV (All sub-variation)
    • Stockwell 2.0 (Multi-Bay)

  • VisionLink is manufacturer-agnostic; however, official integration is provided for the following cooler manufacturers:
    • Imbera PicoCooler (G319)
    • Minus Forty PicoCooler Vision

  • Device count: UX supports up to 8 Vision devices per location; ADM/backend may impose limits - verify with ADM.

Process

Please reach out to 365 to request that VisionLink be enabled for the desired location.

VisionLink Consumer Experience (What Changes)

VisionLink operates within a set session window. Default is 3 minutes; maximum of 10 minutes.
The length of the session window is a configurable setting, which is set by 365 internally.

If a consumer makes multiple purchases across multiple doors within that timeframe, they will be consolidated into
one single transaction, one pre-auth, one receipt.

Single Receipt for Multiple Doors

When a consumer shops multiple linked doors within the session window:

Purchases from all linked devices are consolidated into:

  • One single charge
  • One single receipt

First Transaction in a Session

  1. Consumer presents payment.
  2. System performs pre-authorization.
  3. A new session + cart are created.

Additional Transactions in the Same Session

  1. Consumer presents the same payment method again to unlock another linked device.
  2. No new pre-auth occurs.
  3. Items are added into the existing session cart.

Session End

After the session duration expires:

  1. Items from all transactions are consolidated.
  2. Eligible discounts/promotions apply.
  3. Card is charged and receipt is sent.

Parallel Shopping (Multiple Users)

VisionLink supports a multi-user environment where shoppers can use different linked doors at the same time.

  • Each shopper session is tracked independently.
  • Each shopper receives their own consolidated receipt.
  • One user’s activity does not affect another user’s cart/receipt.

Reporting & Transactions in ADM

  • Inventory in ADM is maintained against a Location for VisionLinked Coolers, the same as traditional configurations.

  • The transaction in ADM will appear as one single, consolidated sale record. This will encompass all items that were purchased and the single payment method against that sale.
    • The Device that is unlocked first will be used as the main Device of record for the sale. The transaction will be reflected in ADM as associated to that Device, both for Reports and the Transaction Search.

  • If any portion on the transaction is incomplete after 24 hours, that portion will be separated and will be treated as a completely different sale record. The associated Device will be the same as the original sale, but there will be a different Transaction ID.

  • Payments will be made against completed transactions, and will be included on the EFT: GMA Disbursement report.
