This article provides answers to frequently asked questions about VisionLink.

VisionLink Setup & Limits​

Can multiple VisionLink groups be created for one location?​
No - only one VisionLink per location is supported. All devices at that location are linked together.


What is the VisionLink experience if there is only a single cooler at a location?​
Locations with only one CV Device can be setup so repeat purchases from this device (within a session) will provide a single receipt.


Can some devices at a VisionLink-enabled location be excluded from using VisionLink?​
No - If VisionLink is enabled, all CV devices at that location are included. Devices cannot be selectively excluded.
 

Consumer Experience

Does a Consumer need to enter their phone number at the beginning of the transaction?​
No - their phone number is only requested for receipt purposes at the end of the transaction (on door close). 
They can choose whether or not to enter their SMS details.​

Can a Consumer get a receipt if they don’t enter their phone number?​
No - they can either scan the QR code or enter SMS details on the Pico device itself. Either way, the only delivery method for CV receipts is SMS in the US.

What happens if the Consumer doesn't enter their phone number on the receipt screen? ​
They will be re-prompted on subsequent transactions if they want a receipt, where they can then enter their SMS details. 
Whether they enter their SMS details on the 1st or 3rd transaction (for example) within a VisionLink session, they will still receive a single receipt for all transactions. They can also choose to not request a receipt.​

Do receipts show which cooler each item came from?​
No - items are aggregated into a single consolidated receipt.​

Is there a grace period to reopen the cooler door after it’s closed?​

  • Single-Door CV: For single-door Vision-Linked coolers - the grace period is set to 0 seconds; the door locks immediately once it is closed.
    This can be over-ridden by the Operator at any time in the Door Lock Timeout setting on the Device Summary page in ADM. 
    We do not recommend changing this setting.
     
  • Multi-Bay CV: For multi-bay Vision-Linked coolers - the grace period will be set to the default for multi-bay deployments.
     

Payments & Discounts

Can different payment methods (e.g., card + GMA) be used in a single session?​
No - each session must use a single payment type (otherwise transactions/receipts will not be consolidated)​.


Will discounts and promotions still apply?​
Yes — promotions apply across all coolers in a session, just like a micro-market (e.g., Coke from one cooler + Doritos from another).
 

Transactions & Reporting

How are flagged transactions handled in a linked session?​
If a transaction in a session is flagged, the Consumer may receive multiple receipts.​


Are there any changes to the reporting?​
Yes - ADM reporting treats the entire session as a single transaction but retains per-device data in the backend for reconciliation, debugging, and disputes.​


How are sales reported? (per device or per location?)​
Sales are reported at the session level for EFT/disbursement, but ADM retains per-device granularity for sales, inventory, and EFT reconciliation.
