Operator Guide - Configuring Product Itemizers
Updated

Purpose

The purpose of this article outlines how to set Product Itemizers within ADM. This process will be required for the Operator model of Room Charge integrations so the associated PMS can accurately charge for all products. If a product in ADM does not have an associated Itemizer Category and Itemizer Sub-Category, that product will not be able to be charged.

Overview

When an Org in ADM is configured for the Room Charge integration, a new option of Product Itemizers will appear in the Admin dropdown. When selected, this will bring the user to a new landing page called PMS Item Categorization.

  • PMS Item Categorization shows all Products that are extended to any Location that is configured for the room charge integration.
    • These products are from the Global Product List, so the Itemizer Category and Itemizer Sub-Category only need to be set once per Product.
  • The Status of each product is shown on the right column. If a Product has the categories already associated, the Status will be Complete, and the product will be locked down from future edits. If a Product does not have the categories associated, the Status will be Incomplete and be editable so the categories can be set.

Process

Product Itemizers will attempt to automatically sync for existing Itemizer Category and Itemizer Sub-Category links on items, if one is not found, adding must be done manually.

Auto/Sync

ADM has an automated sync process that will check a consolidated database of products for any existing Itemizer Category and Itemizer Sub-Category links. This process will run nightly to check any new Product records that may have been added to a Location.

  • This process can also be manually initiated by selecting the “Sync Products” button on the PMS Item Categorization page. Please allow for up to 30 minutes for the manual sync to fully process and return any matched categories

Manual Creation

  1. Identify the Products with an Incomplete Status (those Products highlighted in Red).
  2. Press the “Select category” dropdown within the Itemizer Category column.
  3. Select a Category that most closely aligns with that specific Product.
  4. Press the “Select category” dropdown within the Itemizer Sub-Category column.
  5. Select a Category that most closely aligns with that specific Product.
  6. Complete this process for all Incomplete Products.
