Purpose
The purpose of this article is to outline the steps to Record Wastage using the Kafoodle KMS system.
Desktop Process
- On the KMS, enter into the Wastage Tab.
- Filter the available Wastage List using the Search Bar and the Date Range dropdowns.
- You may also select a Wastage Report for Export. Click the arrow to the left of "Date" to show the reports for selection, then select your desired Wastage reports.
- You may also select a Wastage Report for Export. Click the arrow to the left of "Date" to show the reports for selection, then select your desired Wastage reports.
- To add items to the Stock Waste, click "Search ingredients and recipes"
- This will open a search bar to find and select the desired item or recipe.
- Use the blue Add button to add the item.
- This will open a search bar to find and select the desired item or recipe.
- When an Item has been added to Stock Waste, fill out the Waste Type, Reason, QTY. & UNIT, as well as Internal Notes (optional).
- Click the arrow by QTY. & UNIT to select unit size.
- Click 'Pick waste type' to set type as Plate waste, Stock waste, or Preparation waste.
- Set Reason types as Expired, Damaged/dropped, Incorrect storage, or Other. If selecting 'Other', please add an Internal Notes describing the reason.
- Click the arrow by QTY. & UNIT to select unit size.
- After confirming all the created info fields, click 'Save waste record'.
Mobile Process

- On the Mobile KMS, enter into the Wastage Tab using the Wastage button near the bottom of the screen.
- Use the + New button in the top left to start a new Wastage.
- When a new Wastage report is created, a screen will open where you can select the item, the 'Waste type', 'Reason', 'QTY. & UNIT', and 'Internal Notes' (Optional).
- Clicking 'Search ingredients and recipes' will show a search bar of available items to add. Click the blue Add button to add the item.
- Waste type will show options of 'Plate waste', 'Stock waste', or 'Preparation waste'.
- The Reason field will show options of 'Incorrect preparation', 'Wrong item prepared', 'Excess quantity prepared', or 'Other'.
- When using the 'Other' option for Wastage Reason, please use the Internal Notes field to note the reason.

- Click the arrow by QTY. & UNIT to show options for unit size.
- Clicking 'Search ingredients and recipes' will show a search bar of available items to add. Click the blue Add button to add the item.
- When the Wastage report is correct, use 'Save record' button in the bottom right.
- On the Mobile KMS, enter into the Wastage Tab using the Wastage button near the bottom of the screen.
