Purpose
The purpose of this article is to outline the steps to create a Stock Count using the Kafoodle KMS system.
Desktop Process
- On the KMS, enter into the Stock Take Tab.
- On the main Stock Take Tab screen, use the date filters in the top left to select a date range. Use the + New stock take button in the bottom left to create a new Stock Take, or use the 'Copy for new stock take' button with an existing Stock Take highlighted to duplicate one. Additionally, you may use the 'Edit stock take' button in the bottom right to edit an ongoing draft.
- When a Stock Take is open, you may sort or add items using the Search Bar and Filters in the top left, as well as the 'Sort by most added' toggle.
- To add an item or recipe to the Stock Take, use the blue Add button (Becomes 'Add More' once selected) to add the item to the right side of the screen.
- When adding an item or recipe, click the arrow on UNIT to show possible unit or serving size/portion options.
- When adding an item or recipe, click the arrow on UNIT to show possible unit or serving size/portion options.
- Once an item or recipe has been added to the stock take, change its Quantity (QTY) with the selectors on the right of the item.
- Once the added items are at correct values, use the buttons in the bottom right to complete the Stock Take.
- Use Finalise - To complete and submit the Stock Take.
- Use Return to stock takes - To leave the existing draft Stock take.
- Please Note: The software autosaves draft Stock Takes automatically, you may return to your draft at anytime.
- Use Delete draft - To delete the draft Stock Take.
Mobile Process
- On the Mobile KMS, enter into the Stock Take Tab using the Stock Take button near the bottom of the screen.
- Use the + New button in the top left to start a new Stock Take.
- When a new Stock Take is created, a list of your Items will generate. Use the Search Bar or select the Items to add.
- Filter the items to add using the funnel icon in the top right.
- Use the filters on this screen to narrow the available items by Ingredients/Recipes as well as Location, List, and/or Supplier. Use the 'Sort by most added' toggle to see the most commonly used items.

- Filter the items to add using the funnel icon in the top right.
- Add items or recipes to the Stock Take using the blue Add button on an item to add it. If the Add button is greyed out, the item is unavailable to be added to the Stock Take because of missing item info. Once an item is added to the Stock Take, the Add button will become Add More.
- To view the ongoing Stock Take, click the View stock take list near the bottom of the screen.
- On the 'View stock take list' screen you may edit Quantity (QTY) for added items. Once the Stock Take is complete, click 'Finalise' in the bottom right.
