Purpose
This article serves as an on-site troubleshooting guide for the PepsiCo PayPlus Omni device.
Process
Troubleshooting
- Verify the Device ID is correct.
- Inspect the DEX cabling and MDB connections from the machine board to the card reader (unplug/replug).
- Verify the machine board settings or configurations are correct.
- Ensure the SIM card is fully inserted into the Omni bezel.
- Check for coin/bill/bottle jams in the machine.
- Ensure there is enough change in the coin mechanism.
- Ensure the vending machine has the latest firmware/EPROM version(s).
- If a new VMC board is installed on the machine, make sure the new VMC board has been properly initialized.
- If the machine has a recycler on the bill acceptor, make sure the recycler unit is working correctly.
- If a Tech installs a new Castles reader and the Castles screen keeps rebooting on its own, that is usally a sign that the device needs to be RMA'd (although this is a rare occurrence).
- If re-seating the SIM, antenna, and an antenna swap still shows Offline under GSM, or the Modem shows Fail/Not Reg, then the device will need to be RMA'd internally through Pepsi.
