PicoPlatform - Pico Provisioning Guide

Purpose

How to Provision a Pico for Stockwell, PicoCooler Vision and other Vision Products.

Process

  1. Make sure unit is plugged in and powered on and has an internet connection. You should see three connection options; Cellular, WiFi, Ethernet.

  2. When on-site and connected to the cooler, the connection you’ll be working on should be Ethernet. It should already have the proper IP Settings but if it doesn’t for any reason, navigate to step 18 for IP Settings.

  3. Pico devices do not come with installed Sim cards. Cellular connection should not be used.

    • The Mobile Market will automatically update to the latest version when connected to the internet.

  4. Once the Pico is connected to the internet, it will automatically start updating and you can check the status of the updates by going into the app called “Mobile Agent” On bootup it will go into the image above with the internet options. Press the circle (Home) button on the bottom and drag the small arrow on the blank screen with the wallpaper to bring up the App drawer.

  5. It is highly recommended to wait until everything is fully up to date before you start to provision due to the constant rebooting and restarting services. You will be able to tell once you see an error shown below. If the Pico is already up to date when it’s powered on you can open the Mobile Agent to see the status
  6. Next, enter "Mobile Setup" to start the provisioning process.

  7. Scan the QR code with your phone and enter your ADM credentials

  8. Complete or skip the peripheral devices tests (Card Reader, Barcode Scanner, etc)

  9. The Cabinet type should default to Minus40 but if it isn’t, make sure that’s selected.

  10. Select the ORG this will be deployed to. If there is already an existing location select it from the dropdown. If not you can create a new location.

  11. When creating a location it is highly recommended to include the Device type and External ID as a suffix to the name with an underscore separating them as shown in the image below . The Location should be named something along the lines of “Office Breakroom_SW01234”

  12. If this is a Pico replacing a defective Pico then you can copy products from the original location.

  13. Scroll down and click next until you see a popup saying to wait while it is creating a new location.

  14. Use "Create from Device Defaults".

  15. The Device Type will be either PicoCooler CV or Stockwell 2.0 - These can be changed accordingly to the multiple variations of Smart Solutions depending on the Ambient Add-on units.

  16. Enter the External ID. Please Note: The External ID must Match the ID from the sticker on the back of the machine. If this does not match then the provisioning process will have to be restarted from the very beginning.

  17. A 'Device Information' page will generate. See below example.

  18. After you click finish you will have to enable the Ethernet settings and change the IP Address. To do so you must drag down from the top of the screen the same way you would with a phone and click the settings icon. Click Ethernet and toggle it to On then click Ethernet configuration and select Static IP.
Settings > Ethernet > On > Ethernet configuration > Static IP
    • The Static IP Settings are as follows:
      IP address: 192.168.1.12
      Network prefix length: 24
      DNS address: 192.168.1.90
      Gateway address: 192.168.1.90

  19. Save and send a Full Sync from ADM so these changes can be pushed to device systems.
