Purpose

This article outlines the Promotion Spotlight feature for V5 and MM6 platforms, this feature can be enabled in ADM.
 

Process

The promotions spotlight feature is a great way to highlight active promotions for locations by driving upsell opportunities at the item cart.    

Promotion spotlights can be created for every location and organization.

Note: This functionality is currently only supported on Gen3/MM6 and MM6Mini kiosks

Setting Up Promotion Spotlight

Once a promotion is set up and ready to use, a promotion spotlight can be set up to highlight the promotion.
Important: It is an optional feature to enable promotion spotlight, promotions can be published without enabling and they will still function as normal on the kiosk, with discounts applied to cart.

1. Navigate to the Promotion that needs a Promotion Spotlight.
    
2. Click into the Promotion to edit.
    
3. Within the Promotion Details check the Enable promotion spotlight checkbox under the Promotion Spotlights section.
   
   
4. Then select Upload to upload a Promotion spotlight image.
   
   
5. A prompt to upload an image for the promotion spotlight will appear. The image loaded in promotion spotlight will be displayed on the promotion spotlight tile on the kiosk cart screen.
   
    
   1. Clicking the Remove button can remove an image once one has been added.
      
      
   2. If no image is added to the Promotion Spotlight, a default icon will be display as a placeholder in the tile.
      
      
6. In the Promotion Spotlight Description field, the Display Name inputted in step 1 of the promotion setup appears. It can be rewritten within the text field before publishing, or it will publish accordingly with the tile.
   
   
7. Select “Create” once all steps are completed in the Promotion Spotlights section.
    
8. Select Update Prices & Full Sync at the location level in order to update the kiosk with any new promotion spotlights added.
    
9. Users can now view and scroll through active Promotion spotlights on the kiosk cart screen.

Promotion Spotlight Title

The promotion spotlight title is defaulted as standard to “Great new deals and promotions for you!” 
However, the title is customizable within ADM to suit the promotion needs.

1. Navigate to the Location Summary tab for the device(s).
    
2. Find the Promotion Spotlight Title Banner field, the current title will be shown in italics.
   
   
3. Start typing in the new title and then select Save at the bottom of the location summary page to update. There is a character limit of 40 for the title text.
    

 Promotion Spotlight Tiles – Promotion Types

Based on the promotion type set in ADM, the Promotion Spotlight tiles will display differently. The main difference will be the Tile Title that will dynamically display the promotion discount details without requiring any customization.

For single item promotions and item bundles, the pre-discount price will be displayed in grey and will be crossed through. The post-discount price will be displayed in green. 
These values are pulled dynamically from the promotion setup.

For multi-product On-Screen promotions such as Category groups, the pre and post-discount prices will not display due to the range of prices in the promotion.
 

On-Screen promotions

• $ Value Off: Tile Title will display: “Save <$x.xx>” → [$x.xx ADM Reference Field] = “Discount Amount”
  
  
• % Off: Tile Title will display: “<xx%> off”→ [xx% ADM Reference Field] = “Discount Percentage %”
  
  

Bundle Promotions

• $ Value Off: Tile Title will display: “Bundle and save <$x.xx>”  →  [$x.xx ADM Reference Field] = “Discount Amount”
  
  
• % Off: Tile Title will display: “Bundle for <$x.xx>” → [$x.xx ADM Reference Field] = “Bundle Price”
  
  

Buy X Get Y Free Promotions

• Buy X Get Y: Tile Title will display: “Buy x get y Free” → [X/Y ADM Reference Field] = “Buy X Get Y”
  
  

Customer Experience

Customers will be able to view Promotion Spotlights in the footer of the item cart once the first item is scanned to cart. Users can horizontally scroll through active Promotion Spotlights to view.

In order to apply Promotion Spotlights to cart, users will scan items as usual, and the item cart will apply any associated discount (based on promotion type).

If a user taps any of the promotion spotlight tiles no action will be registered, items will not be added to cart automatically.
 

FAQ

• Who can create, edit, and remove promotion spotlights?
  Operators for Orgs and Locations that have promotions enabled in ADM can create, edit, and remove or expire promotions and associated promotion spotlights.
   
• Are there any promotion types not supported by promotion spotlights?
  Yes. For On-Screen and Bundle promotion types, the below are not supported:
  • Select Tenders Only
  • Transaction Minimums
     
• Can I setup a promotion spotlight for Multiple Items or categories?
  Yes. However, the promotion spotlight will not show the pre and post discount amounts as multiple products are being referenced. The tile will only show the Display Name for the promotion.
   
• Can I change the Promotion Tile Title descriptions?
  No. The Title descriptions for Promotion Spotlight tiles is dynamic based on the promotion details set. They cannot be edited or changed.
   

• Can a promotion spotlight be turned off before a Promotion's end date?
  Yes. To do so, follow the steps in the View/Edit Promotions section of the article, ADM - Promotions - Operator Guide.
