Purpose

This article provides step-by-step instructions to swap out an iUC 285 card reader with a Self/3000 on MM6 and MM6 Mini Dining kiosks.

Tools Required

#2 Phillips head screwdriver

Materials Provided

Self/3000 Credit Card reader

Process

Please contact 365 Support before performing this upgrade. Inform them that a Dining Kiosk is being swapped from an iUC285 Reader to a Self3000 Reader. Then proceed with replacement.

On reboot as the final step, the payment device will take the new settings.

For safety, the kiosk should be powered down and unplugged prior to working on it.

1. Unlock the kiosk and open the door.
   
   
   
2. Locate the credit card reader in the kiosk door and unplug the USB cable.
   
   
   
3. Remove the 4 retaining screws using a #2 Phillips head screwdriver, retaining screws to use to mount the Self/3000 reader.
   When removing the final screw, place your hand on the front of the card reader and hold it firmly so it does not fall out of the kiosk.
   
4. Place the Self/3000 credit card reader into the pocket where the iUC 285 was located.
   
   
   
5. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to install the 4 mounting screws you retained from the iUC 285 reader, tightening fully.
   
   
   
6. Plug the USB cable into the back of the Self/3000 reader.
   If on an MM6 Mini, you may need to move the USB connection to a different port on the PC to allow enough slack on the cable to prevent over tensioning the cable head.
   
7. Power up the kiosk and ensure that the Self/3000 reader powers up. Then close and lock the kiosk.
   
   
8. Reboot the reader if needed.
   
   
9. Perform a test transaction to ensure that the reader is working as intended.
   
   
10. Refund the transaction if needed using the ReadyTouch Cashier screen.
