ADM - App Referral Operator Guide

Purpose

This article outlines the steps required to enable App Referrals in ADM for 365Pay and all other whitelabel apps.

Process

Boost app engagement and transactions by configuring app referrals. This low-cost, trackable feature helps increase retention and drive revenue growth. App users can send a referral via text or email to someone who does not yet have a consumer account, inviting them to create an account and make a minimum purchase to receive the gift. Once the referral receiver creates an account and makes at least the minimum purchase amount via the app, both the sender and receiver will receive referral gifts, which is money added to their consumer account for completing the referral.

Customizable: Operators can set up Referrals by location in ADM. If a consumer is linked to the location the Referral is set up for, then they will see a Referral tile on the Home Page of the app. Operators can set the referral gift amount, as well as the minimum purchase required to qualify.

Automatic Redemption: When the referred friend creates their account and makes the minimum purchase, both the sender and receiver automatically have the referral gift amount added to their account balance.

Notifications: Both users will get an in-app message confirming the referral gift has been applied to their account balance.

Billing: Operators will be charged for the referral gifts via EFT.

Configure a Referral Program

  1. Log into ADM.

  2. Select the Admin tab.

  3. Select the Consumer Engagement option.

ADM - Menu - Admin - Consumer Engagement
  4. Expand the App Referrals section.

  5. An Operator can either create a new referral program by selecting the Create New button or edit an existing referral program by selecting the existing referral program name from the list.

  6. When creating a new referral program, the Operator will need to set the following.
ADM - App Referrals Create New Fields
    1. Name: This is just used internally for reporting. The app users will not see this name.

    2. Locations: The location(s) that you would like the referral program to display for in the app. Only users who have the selected location(s) as their account home location in ADM will see the app referral tile on their app home page, allowing them to send app referrals. Users can send an app referral to a user at any location, and the qualifying purchase for the referral gift can be made at any location.

    3. Referral Amount: The amount that will be gifted to both the sender and receiver of the referral link once the receiver meets the transaction minimum. This will be reflected on the operator’s disbursement report.

    4. Transaction Min: The minimum amount a user needs to spend after creating their account to qualify for the referral gift and have it added to their account and the referral sender’s account.
Note: The transaction minimum can be met in one transaction or multiple transactions.
Example: If the referral gift amount is set to $5.00 and the minimum transaction amount is set to $2.50, the user could make one transaction of at least $2.50, or separate transactions totaling up to at least $2.50 to meet the minimum.

    5. Auto Disable: If set to No, the referral program will run indefinitely until manually disabled. If set to Yes, you will have the ability to set the disable thresholds which will automatically disable the referral program when met.

      1. On This Date: The day the referral program ends. On this date, any unclaimed/non-qualifying outstanding referrals will be expired, and users will not receive the gift. Additionally, for the set location(s), the app referral tile will no longer display on the user’s app Home page.

        1. Redeemed: The referral program will expire when the set number of referrals are redeemed. When the set number of redemptions is met, any unclaimed/non-qualifying outstanding referrals will be expired, and users will not receive the gift. Additionally, for the set location(s), the app referral tile will no longer display on the user’s app Home page.
Both the sender of the referral and the consumer who signed up using that referral link AND met the set transaction minimum will be included in the total count redeemed for disabling. Users who sign up from a referral link but do not meet the transaction minimum are not counted.

App View

If a user's associated location on the backend has an active referral program, they’ll see an App Referral tile on their Home screen displaying the gift amount (e.g., “Give $5, Get $5”). Tapping this tile allows them to send a referral. Once the recipient creates a new account and meets the minimum transaction requirement, both the sender and the recipient will receive a notification confirming that the gift has been credited to their accounts. The referral flow for each app is documented in its respective guide.
