Purpose
The purpose of this article is to provide information on how to Configure, Restore Scanner Settings, Verify Barcode Output, and/or Assemble the Fixed Mount for the Handheld Scanner shipped with your Impulsify Kiosk.
To perform all testing/configuration processes in this article, please do the following before beginning:
- Have the scanner available and keep this article open so you can scan the configuration barcodes below.
- Open a blank Word document or Notepad file for testing.
- Locate a test item with a short 8-digit barcode to confirm the scanner output.
Process
Configure or Restore the Scanner Settings
If you are configuring your scanner for the first time, or the scanner is not working as expected, scan the following barcodes in order to restore the settings it had when it was shipped. Please Note: Take care to scan the Barcodes in order - cover the barcode you are not actively using with your hand if you are viewing this article on a mobile device.
- Scan the Reset Configuration to Defaults barcode.
- Next, scan the Expand UPC-E to UPC-A Enable barcode.
Test the Scanner Output
After resetting and re-expanding UPC-E to UPC-A, test the Barcode Scanner with the steps below:
- Open a blank Word document or Notepad file.
- Click in an area that accepts typing.
- Find an item in your store with the short 8-digit barcode.
- Scan the barcode.
- The scanner output should produce a 12-digit UPC code.
- The scanner output should produce a 12-digit UPC code.
Assemble Scanner Fixed Mount
View the below picture for the Fixed Mount diagram.
- Fix the turning axis and the saddle stand.
- Link the mat patch and the link pole.
- Fix the link pole and pedestal.
- Lock the weight-added iron patch.
