Purpose
This article goes over how to complete a night audit in ImpulsePoint.
Process
Please have the Night Auditor complete the night audit, just prior to rolling the PMS for the day.
This will keep the reports in ImpulsePoint in sync with the reports in the PMS.
Please Note: Night Audit can only be completed between 12am-3am local time.
To learn how to complete a night audit, please see the demo video below or written step-by-step instructions.
Then, see the After Completing the Night Audit section for recommended actions to perform afterwards.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Navigate to the Sell screen in ImpulsePoint. Select the Night Audit icon at the top center of the screen.
This will trigger a 5-step process:
-
Step 1 will ask to enter the total rooms sold for the day.
-
Step 2 asks the Night Auditor to review any PMS missing sales that may have occurred and not yet been cleared.
A PMS missing sale is a transaction completed in ImpulsePoint, but not properly recorded in the PMS, or recorded at all.
Please investigate within the property's PMS to see if the transaction went through.
If it did, hit Ignore. If they did not, hit Retry. Once this is completed, hit Next. -
Step 3 can only be completed between midnight and 3 AM the next day.
If it is after 3 AM, the ROLL BUSINESS DAY button may become inactive and not allow to move forward with the night audit process.
Once completed, hit Next. -
Step 4 will ask if the House Accounts are checked in. Once this is completed, hit Done, then Next.
-
Step 5 will ask to batch credit card transactions to the house account.
Once this is completed, hit Done, then Finish to complete the night audit procedure.
After Completing the Night Audit
After completing the night audit, we recommend the following:
- Navigate to the Analyze icon, then select Reports. On the Sales Reports card, please select the Sales Summary link.
- Please adjust the Time field to Yesterday, then hit APPLY. This will show the Retail Details for the day from the market.
At hotels with PMS integration, this will allow the Night Auditor to confirm the data in ImpulsePoint matches the data reported in the PMS.
