Steps to perform a Giveaway for a Guest when you are celebrating their loyalty or when you may have to apologize to them

To process a giveaway within ImpulsePoint, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Sell" tab located on the left side of the screen in ImpulsePoint.

  2. Add all the items you wish to include in the transaction to your cart.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, select the "Giveaway" button.

  4. Choose the specific item or items that you want to provide free of charge.

  5. Opt for a reason for the giveaway on the left side. The default reason is set to "Preferred Guest."

  6. If you select "Service Recovery," a dropdown menu will appear, offering more detailed options for the Service Recovery, including "Check In issue," "Housekeeping Issue," "General Service Issue," and "Other."

  7. If you choose "Other," you will be prompted to provide additional comments regarding the giveaway.

  8. Don't forget to click "APPLY."

  9. You will notice that the product totals in the cart will adjust to reflect the new pricing after the giveaway has been applied.

  10. Proceed to complete the transaction as usual from this point onward!
