How do I balance the House Account for our ShopPoP self - pay Kiosk?
Updated

Steps to balance Transactions from the ShopPoP self - pay Kiosk to the House Account for Hilton properties on OnQ Direct Post or OnQ Enhanced

When transactions occur at the ShopPoP self-pay kiosk, the revenue part of the transaction is automatically transferred to the House Account in OnQ. The Night Auditor's responsibility is to reconcile this House Account using a "Depository Payment Method."

If your Property already has the Depository Payment Method set up, you can find it as a payment option in the Payment Screen within OnQ by selecting it from the payment dropdown.

In cases where the Depository Payment Method hasn't been created for your Property, it can be generated through Database Maintenance under "Payments." However, please note that to complete this process, a General Manager or Accounting Manager must initiate a service ticket with Hilton Support, who will provide a one-time password for finalizing the setup.

We recommend that the General Manager or Accounting Manager chooses a name that the Night Auditor can easily identify when posting payments, such as "ImpulsePoint Kiosk Credit Card Payment(s)."

Once the Depository Payment Method is established for the Property, the Night Auditor can utilize the Kiosk Transactions section within the Sales Summary Report to apply payments to the House Account associated with the ShopPoP self-pay kiosk. This task should be completed on a nightly basis.

To access the Sales Summary Report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to "Analyze."
  2. Select "Reports."
  3. Click on "Sales Summary."
  4. Expand the "Credit Card" section.
  5. Choose "Kiosk Transactions."

The Night Auditor should enter the "Total" dollar amount from this section in the report, using the Depository Payment Method, to reconcile the House Account for the ShopPoP self-pay kiosk in OnQ.

This entire process is a crucial part of Step 4 in the ImpulsePoint Night Audit process, which can be found on the Sell screen in ImpulsePoint. For more information on the ImpulsePoint Night Audit process, you can refer to the relevant documentation.
