Carbon Labelling

Purpose

This article outlines the Carbon Labelling feature for 365 Kitchen Management (Kafoodle) services.
 

Overview

To enable the feature, a Backoffice user needs to select recipe(s) and tick “calculate carbon footprint” to initiate to process. This can be done per recipe or in bulk.

  • Please Note: If one or more of the ingredients is missing a conversion, a validation message will appear on the screen and that recipe(s) will not be sent for carbon calculations. User must add conversion then reselect “calculate carbon footprint” to trigger process.

Status

  • In progress - with carbon team calculating recipe emissions

  • Complete - emissions complete. Carbon rating, emissions total and emissions per serving show in UI

  • Action Required - if a client is also including packaging and transport in calculations, carbon team are awaiting information from client to complete emissions. This is all managed outside of the software

  • Not suitable for assessment - carbon team do not have supporting data to calculate emissions

  • Not Calculated - recipe has not been ticked “calculate carbon footprint”

  • Recipe and menu management module
    • Recipe Admin screen
