General Questions

  1. Why is the PicoCoffee unique and first to market?
    The PicoCoffee goes beyond a basic payment terminal, allowing for full micro-market "Scan & Pay" functionality, where users can vend coffee and scan snacks and other items in a single transaction.

  2. What is the difference between a PicoCoffee and a PicoCoffee+?
    PicoCoffee supports coffee vending only
    PicoCoffee+ supports coffee vending as well as "Scan & Pay" market items with a barcode

  3. What types of products can be sold with this technology?
    For the PicoCoffee, automatic table-top vended coffee can be sold.
    For the PicoCoffee+, automatic table-top vended coffee, as well as prepackaged, shelf stable foods, such as those found in our vending machines and Micromarkets

 

End User Questions

  1. Can I vend more than one coffee at a time with the PicoCoffee?
    No. PicoCoffee only allows for one coffee per transaction.

  2. What happens if there is an error on the coffee machine after I have paid on the PicoCoffee?
    If there is an error on the coffee machine that caused the coffee not to dispense, the PicoCoffee will immediately refund the transaction. 

  3. Do I order my coffee on the PicoCoffee UI or on the coffee machine?
    Customers will select their coffee on the coffee machine, finalizing the transaction on the PicoCoffee before the machine will vend the coffee.

  4. Can I use 365Pay on the PicoCoffee?
    Yes: the PicoCoffee is fully integrated into 365 Retail Markets Connected Campus solution, including stored value accounts.

  5. How do I add non-coffee products during the transaction?
    Users can scan additional items with the barcode reader at any time during the transaction. Items will then be added to your card. You do not need to have a coffee in your cart to complete your transaction.

 

Compatibility and Connectivity Questions

  1. Does PicoCoffee work with all automatic coffee machines?
    PicoCoffee is designed to work with all MDB enabled automatic coffee machines.
    The automatic coffee machine must support at least MDB version 4.2, communicating with level 3, supporting the "b5/always idle session."

  2. Does PicoCoffee come with an MDB cable in the box?
    Yes, the PicoCoffee comes with a standard MDB cable included. 

  3. What connection methods does PicoCoffee support?
    The PicoCoffee supports Wi-Fi, 4G Cellular, and Ethernet connections. 

  4. What happens if the PicoCoffee is offline?
    Transactions are not available if the PicoCoffee is in offline mode.

 

Installation Questions

  1. Does PicoCoffee need to be mounted onto the coffee machine?
    The PicoCoffee comes ready to mount on a custom build stand, which can be placed on a countertop. 

  2. Does PicoCoffee require complicated setup?
    Setting up the PicoCoffee is a breeze. This is a plug & play device, and operators can self-provision as needed.

Management Questions

  1. Can I see coffee transactions in a single back end with market items?
    Yes, operators can see coffee transactions alongside scan & pay market items sold, tracking revenue and volumes sold at a location.

  2. How do I manage the PicoCoffee?
    Items sold with the PicoCoffee are managed via ADM, 365’s back-end management system. All your products and sales will be available in one overview.

  3. Can I see coffee machine specific data such as milk level and bean volumes?
    No, the PicoCoffee will not provide specific OEM coffee machine back-end data or telemetry.

  4. How do I upgrade to a PicoCoffee+, enabling full market "Scan & Pay" functionality?
    Contact 365Support at (888) 365-6282 or support@365smartshop.com to have your unit updated to full PicoCoffee+ functionality.

  5. Do I set the price of coffee on the coffee machine or in ADM?
    Operators will set the price of each coffee item on the coffee machine itself. Pricing is NOT set in ADM for coffee.

  6. What payment solution do I need to use?
    Operators will use 365 supported acquirers as with the wider 365 range of products.
