Legacy Kiosk Platform – How to Install the Monnit Software Package

Purpose

The Monnit Software is necessary for Monnit-compatible devices to communicate with the iMonnit website. This document provides instructions on the installation of the Monnit software package on Legacy MicroMarket Kiosks running on Windows 7 and Windows 10.

 

Prerequisites

  • USB Keyboard
  • Monnit-compatible Gateway USB Dongle
  • Monnit-compatible Temperature Sensor(s)
  • USB Mouse (optional – if used, replace “tap” with “click” in the directions).

 

Keyboard Setup and Windows Version Determination

  1. Plug in the USB keyboard (and optional mouse) into a free USB port on the kiosk PC.

  2. Press the Windows key WindowsKey.jpg on the keyboard to display the Windows Start Menu.

    Follow the Windows 7 instructions below if your Start Menu looks like this:

Windows 7 Instructions

Log off and Operator Account Log in

  1. Tap the Log Off button on the Start Menu.

  2. Press the Windows key WindowsKey.jpg on the keyboard if the previous instance has disappeared.

  1. A login screen will display when you are done logging off. Press the CTRL + ALT + DEL keys to bring up the Account Selection window.

  1. Login to the 365 Operator account, using the operator account password. If this option is not possible, call 365 Support at (888) 365-6282.

 

Accessing the Installation Files

  1. The Windows Start Menu and Windows Task Bar will display on the bottom of the screen when you have finished logging in.

  2. Tap the Windows Start Menu button.

  3. Tap the Documents The Documents windows will display the Monnit_Link_USB_Gateway_Setup.3.2 and WirelessSensorDriver-4.0.0-X86 files.

Sensor Driver Installation

  1. Quickly tap twice on the WirelessSensorDriver-4.0.0-X86 file to launch the sensor driver installation package.

  2. Tap Next on each of the subsequent screens, which are: The Welcome screen, the Destination Location screen, and Select Start Menu screen.

  3. Tap Install on the Ready to Install

  1. Tap Next on the Welcome to the USB Dongle Installer screen.

  1. A Windows Security screen will display if no previous version of the driver software package has been installed. Tap on the Install this driver software anyway option.

  1. Driver installation may take up to five minutes. Tap on both subsequent Finish buttons.

 

Monnit Link Installation

  1. Quickly tap twice on the 3.2 file to launch the sensor driver installation package.

  2. If the software has been previously installed, a Change, repair, or remove installation screen will display:
  • If this does not display - continue to Step 3.
  • If this does display - tap Cancel, then tap Yes on the subsequent popup window. Proceed to Step 6.

  1. Tap Next once on the Welcome screen, and once on the Custom Setup screen.

  2. Tap Install on the Ready to install Monnit Link USB Gateway screen.

  3. When the installation has completed, tap Finish.

  1. Reboot the kiosk.

 

Sensor Activation and Confirmation

  1. Confirm the kiosk reboot has completed by verifying the Valet POS is present on the screen.

  2. Install the battery in the temperature sensor(s). Cross link/reference the installation point in the appropriate article.
  1. Be sure the gateway and sensors are checking in from the iMonnit website. Cross link/reference the iMonnit User Guide.
  1. If the newly installed sensors and gateway are not checking into the iMonnit website within five minutes, call 365 Support at (888) 365-6282.

Windows 10 Instructions

  1. Tap the top icon (outline of a person). Tap the Log Off button on the Start Menu.

  2. Press the Windows key WindowsKey.jpg on the keyboard if the previous instance has disappeared.

3. A login screen will display when you are done logging off. Press the CTRL + ALT + DEL keys to bring up the Account Display Selection window and tap on the 365 Operator account.

4. Login to the 365 Operator account, using the operator account password. If this option is not possible, call 365 Support at (888) 365-6282.
