Purpose
Using the video above and the steps below, you will learn how to create accounts and locations in your VMS, as well as the purposes they each serve in your operation.
Process
Creating an Account
Accounts allow you to create groups of physical locations and apply commissions or subsidies to these groups. While accounts are not strictly needed to route vending machines, Micro Markets, OCS, subsidies, and commissions, as well as a number of analytics reports depend on accounts to correctly calculate information. The VMS is designed to work in tiers, with Accounts over Locations, and Locations over Machines/Markets.
- To create a new account, navigate to Settings > Customers > Accounts.
- Click New Account on the upper right side of the screen.
- Fill in the required information marked with an asterisk (*).
- If you plan to use commissions, provide the commission amount.
- Indicate whether the commission is a flat rate or a percentage.
- Click Verify Address.
- Click Save Changes.
Creating a Location
Locations are where one or multiple machines are located.
- To create a new location, click Settings > Customers > Locations.
- Click New Location on the upper right side of the screen.
- Fill in the required fields marked with an asterisk (*).
- In order for a location's machines to be available for routing, the Vending Route field cannot have the Not Specified option selected.
- Click the Contact tab to the right of the General tab.
- Fill in the required fields marked with an asterisk (*).
If you forget this step, you will see an error notifying you to fill in first and last name of your contact for the location. - Click Verify Address.
- Click Save Changes.
- Repeat this process to add all locations to the VMS.
