Parlevel - Machines With Issues / POS With Issues Report

Purpose

This article serves as a guide for the Machines With Issues / POS With Issues  report. The report shows a dashboard displaying the total number of assets from which the VMS isn't receiving data or another issue was detected. Below the dashboard is a table listing each asset and its unresolved alert.

The title of the report changes depending on whether or not the setting 'Markets' are enabled in the VMS:

  • If markets are disabled, navigate to Analytics > Vending Operations > Machines with Issues.

  • If markets are enabled, navigate to Analytics > Vending Operations > POS with Issues.

Process

  1. Log into the Organization's VMS.
     
  2. Navigate to Analytics.
     
  3. Select Vending Operations

  4. Select Machines With Issues / POS With Issues.

Table Columns

  • Asset: A unique, customizable ID assigned to the asset.
     
  • Device ID: POS or telemetry device serial number.
     
  • Machine: Asset name. Clicking the name opens the asset's model.

  • Location: Asset's assigned Location.

  • Route: Asset's assigned Route

  • Model: Asset manufacturer model ("Not Specified" if not provided).

  • Issue: The specified alert.

  • Notes: Click the word Empty to make and save a new note.

  • Date Detected: Date & time when the alert first triggered.

Issue Descriptions

No Communication

Telemeter isn’t communicating to Parlevel.

  • Common Possible reasons include:
    • Machine or telemeter is unplugged -> Check power cables
    • Bad internet connection or faulty antenna -> Check antenna connector
    • Telemeter software bugs -> Restart machine and telemeter.

Connection / Cabling Issue

Telemeter is online, but no DEX cable detected.

  • Common Possible reasons include:
    • DEX cable to telemeter is unplugged. -> Check DEX cabling between VMC and telemeter and verify telemeter is sending DEX

Handshake Error

Telemeter is online, but cannot DEX VMC.

  • Common Possible reasons include:
    • Defective telemeter -> Verify telemeter has upto-date firmware
    • Defective VMC -> Verify VMC is properly functioning and DEXing,
    • VMC-telemeter incompatibility -> Restart machine and telemeter.

No Selections Issue

Telemeter is online and DEXing but the information provided by the machine is lacking the sales information for individual selections. Because of this, inventory cannot be tracked. Please check your machine's settings to make sure selection reporting is configured properly.

  • Example: "Product Codes" set to "Manual" instead of "Auto."
