Overview
The email campaign feature allows you to communicate with your customers informing them of promotional offers and discounts to help drive them back to the market to increase sales.
Email campaigns utilize user lists and email templates, which can be mixed and matched via the Manage Campaign settings.
Create an Email User List
User List s allow you to choose the market locations you want to message consumers and target the criteria of your choice.
- Begin by selecting the Email Campaigns tab in AMS to access the email campaign feature.
- Select User List
- Enter your User List Name
- Select the locations you want to include in your campaign
- Select the filter criteria you want to target consumers at each location. You may filter based on their Account Balance, Last Purchase Date, Active User status at a particular location, or Inactive User Status at a particular location. These filters are detailed below.
User List Filter: Account Balance
This filter targets consumers with specific account balances of your choice. The filter is not location specific.
- Once you have selected this filter, enter your desired balance
- Select the create button
- You will need to select OK confirming the number of locations included in the email campaign
The balance options available are Greater than (>), Less than (<), Equal to (=), Greater than or equal to ( > = ), or Less than or equal to ( < = ).
User List Filter: Last Purchase Date
Filtering by last purchase allows you to target the consumers that have made a purchase on or around a particular date.
- Select one of the following filter options
- ON: Targets users that had activity on a specific date you select
- Before: Identifies consumers that had activity prior to your selected date
- After : Identifies consumers that had activity after your selected date
- Select your target date
- Select the create button
- You will need to select OK confirming the number of locations included in the email campaign
- You will receive a confirmation pop up
User List Filter: User
This filter targets ALL active market users at each market location.
- Select the Stale User filter
- Select the create button
- Select OK, confirming the number of locations included in the email campaign
- You will receive a Confirmation that your email list was created with the total number of emails that will be sent to your selected locations
User List Filter: Stale User Option
Using the same steps as you did in the previous User option, you can also filter for inactive or "stale" users. The only difference is that you will change the Stale User? option to Yes.
Edit or Delete a User List
After creating your user list, you will be able to view, edit, or delete it.
From the list of User Lists, select the Edit button to view or change the location user list. Select the Delete option to remove the user list.
Creating an Email Template
You can create customizable, reusable templates for individual markets or broad campaigns targeting multiple client locations.
- From Email Campaigns in AMS, select Templates
- The Create Email Template page will now appear. Enter the Template Name you would like to use, which must be unique from other templates.
- Create the subject line for the email
- Periodically save your email template. A confirmation pop-up appears when the template has been saved successfully
Personalize the Email Template via Tags
Emails can be personalized by inserting tags. When the email is sent, these tags will be read by AMS, and they will be changed to include the appropriate information for each recipient. For example, if you include the First Name Tag in your email, AMS will change the email to include the recipient's first name in the spot where you put the First Name Tag.
- Select a spot in the email text field. You may have other text typed in already, or it may be empty.
- Click the Insert Tags dropdown option on the toolbar
- Select the tag or tags you would like to use from the list
- The tag will then appear where your cursor was in the email text field
- You may continue writing your email as normal.
Adding an image to your email campaign
- Place your cursor where you want the image to be located in the email
- Click the image icon on the toolbar
- Click on the + Upload button to select an image from your PC
- Highlight the file you want to include in your campaign
- Select the insert button to import your image
- Important Note: Please ensure the file extension is in uppercase

View, Edit, or Delete Templates
Once you have saved your template, you will be able to view, edit, and delete it from the list of templates you have created.
- Click the edit button to view or change the template
- Click the delete option to remove the template
Managing Your Campaign
Now that you have made the list of users you would like to send the campaign to, as well as the email itself, it is time to combine them.
The Manage Campaigns setting allows you to select the location(s) and email template you want to use.
- From Email Campaigns, select the Manage Campaigns setting
- Select the location user list you want to send your campaign to
- Select the Template you wish to send
- Select the Schedule type
- Run now – Emails will be sent when Send Email button is selected
- One Time – Select the future date you would like to send the email communication by selecting the date on the calendar icon.
- Recurring – You can set up a campaign to be sent to consumers on a daily, weekly, or monthly reoccurring schedule
- Select your start and end dates
- Enter the number you would like in the Repeat Every Field
- Select the Day, Week, or Month recurrence option
- Click the Send Email button to activate the campaign
You will receive a confirmation message when completed
