Send a Snack - End User Guide

Purpose

The Send a Snack feature in the mobile app allows customers to send money to each other.

The amount sent is deducted from the sender’s account balance. If the recipient does not accept the gifted amount within 30 days, it will expire and be returned to the sender.

Process

How to Send a Snack Gift

  1. To send a Snack Gift, select the Send a Snack tile from the Home screen.

  2. Enter the recipient’s email address, select the amount you’d like to send ($1 minimum), and optionally include a personalized message with your gift.

    1. If the Snack Gift amount exceeds your current account balance, you will be prompted to fund your account to cover the full gift amount.
    2. The receiver of a snack gift must have an account.
       
  3. Once the system confirms their account information, the gift amount will be sent.

Accepting a Snack Gift

When someone sends you a Snack, you’ll receive a notification – either as a push notification/in-app popup or email. Once you accept the Snack Gift, the amount will be added to your account balance, and the Send a Snack notification in your inbox will update to reflect the change.

Canceling a Snack Gift

A sender can cancel a gift at any time before it is accepted or expired. Once the gift has been accepted, it cannot be canceled.

Canceling a gift will return the money to the sender’s account, and the Send a Snack notification in the app inbox will be updated for both the sender and the receiver. The original recipient will no longer be able to accept the gift once it has been canceled.

  1. To cancel a snack, go to your app inbox and select the Send a Snack notification.

  2. Select the Cancel Snack button.

  3. You will receive confirmation that the snack was cancelled and the amount was added back to your account balance.

  4. The message verbiage will change to reflect the cancellation for both the sender and recipient.

Expired Snack Gifts

If the gifted amount is not accepted within 30 days of being sent, it will expire and be returned to the sender. The Send a Snack notification in the app inbox will be updated for both the sender and the receiver to indicate that the gift has expired and is no longer available.

Blocking a User

If you receive a snack gift from someone you don’t want to receive gifts from, you can block them directly from the Send a Snack notification in your inbox. Blocking will prevent you from accepting the snack, return the money to the sender, and stop them from sending you any future snacks.

You can unblock a user at any time through the Send a Snack notification, or by navigating to Account > Blocked ‘Send a Snack' Users (under the Settings section).
