Why Can't I Confirm My Order?
Updated

Introduction

You've created a Back Office Order, and Saved it. But the Order Status still shows as Unconfirmed and you can't find the button to Confirm the Order. Everything is added and correct on the Order Details Tab, but the option to Confirm is not at the bottom of the page.

You should always Confirm an Order that is going to be or was fulfilled. Otherwise, it might not show up in Reports and will create inaccurate data when accounting for Order Sales.

Why Can't I Confirm Order?

In the Item Selection Tab, you must add at least one Menu to the Order before it can be Confirmed. If you add a Service Charge to an Order, but no Items, the Order can't be Confirmed.

In the example below, only a Service Charge has been included in the Item Selections, which is why we don't see the Confirm Order button at the bottom.

Add a Menu to Confirm

  1. Click Add Menu in the Item Selection Tab to add Menus to the Order.

  2. Click Save.

  3. The option the Confirm the Order at the bottom of the page, near the Save button, is not available.

What if I only need a Service Charge for this Order?

First, you should always add a Menu Item, even if it is just a charge for Wait Staff, Bartender Service, or Event Set Up. This allows Reports to accurately account for taxes, sales, and inventory. Charges don't always have taxes added to them.

If you have a Bartender service, you might need to account for the liquor that was sold, and the Customer needs to pay the tax for that.

Here are some other ways to add this Item to Confirm the Order.

Bespoke Menu Item of the Service Charge

  1. Create a Bespoke Menu Item for the service of the amount that was on the Charge.

  2. Once added, delete the Charge.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Click Confirm Order.

Add a New Menu for this Charge or Service

  1. Add A New Menu with the name and price of the Service Charge you added. It might be called Linen, Bartender Service, Event Setup, etc.

  2. Once saved, refer back to this Menu to add to future Orders.

  3. Add that Menu to the Order.

  4. Delete the service charge.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Click Confirm Order.

Add A Miscellaneous Bespoke Menu Item of $0

  1. If it's important that the Service Charge is labeled and reported as a Service Charge, you can create a Bespoke Menu Item of $0 for an Item labeled in a way that indicates it was used for the Service Charge.

  2. It might be called "Open Item".

  3. After the Bespoke Menu is added, click Save.

  4. Click Confirm Order.

That's how to make sure your Order gets Confirmed!
