Gen 3 Installation Guide

Purpose

To set up the Gen3 successfully, follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Before "Go Live" for your Gen3 kiosk, please schedule a timeslot with our Support department to complete the Pre-Live Checklist by calling 888-365-6282.

 

Staging and Packaging List

  • Gen3 with Integrated Tabletop Stand

  • 4 mounting screws
  • 10' Network Cable Extension

 

Step 1: Unpacking the Kiosk

Carefully unpack the Gen3 kiosk. Be sure not to lose any mounting hardware or accessories, which are included in the packaging box. Please stop and contact us immediately if you see any damage caused by shipping.

 

Step 2: Placing the Kiosk

  1. Place the Gen3 kiosk on the desired counter location

  2. Secure the Gen3 to the counter using the 4 self-drilling screws included in the package. If the countertop is made of granite, stone, or metal, please use double-sided adhesive tape (not included) to secure the unit, in addition to the included screws.

  3. Optional: For a cleaner look, drill a 1 1/4" access hole into the counter for routing the cables

 

Step 3: Turning on the Kiosk

  1. Power up the Gen3 by connecting to a 110V wall outlet. We recommend using a UPS/ line conditioner.

  2. The Gen3 will boot up to Windows and then automatically start the POS software. This process may take a few minutes.

 

Reminder

Never unplug the kiosk to shut down the device. Always use the power button to properly shut down. You may do this by inserting a pencil or other slim object into the access port shown here.

Step 4: Network and DVR Setup

  1. The cable harness has two 10' network cables exiting out the back side of the unit. Connect the cable labeled "Internet" to a LAN outlet.

  2. If you have a DVR system, connect the cable which is labeled DVR directly to the DVR port

 

Step 5: Pre-Live Checklist

  1. Locate and write down the VSH serial number on the Gen3 (on the side of the kiosk)

  2. Call our Support department at 888-365-6282 to complete the Pre-Live Checklist. Our team will walk you through the next few steps and complete the remote configuration.

The USB Serial Port Interface can be found on the back of the device, on the lower left side.
